چکیده
Azanza garckeana is a tropical fruit plant found in Africa. Its edible used as food or herbal medicines, while the seeds are discarded. In an attempt to turn waste wealth and obtain useful substances from it, this study was carried out identify bioactive compounds with nutritional health-promoting benefits present methanol aqueous extracts of fruit. Freshly harvested few fruits A. containing were obtained Tula Kaltungo LGA, Gombe State, Nigeria. They identified authenticated at Forest Research Institute Nigeria (FRIN), Ibadan, The pulverized subjected GC-MS analysis. results revealed presence thirtyeight which have been reported anticancer, antioxidant, antimicrobial, anti-androgenic, anti-inflammatory hepatoprotective properties. Among these following biological functions namely: Pentadecanoic acid, Octadecadienoic Hexadecanoic Tetradecanoic Heneicosane, 2-Methyltetracosane Methyl stearate. There concentrations range 0.33% for 9-Octadecenoic acid-methyl ester (Methyl oleate) 24.3% 9,12– octadecadienoic acid-(z-z) (Linoleic acid) extract. extract, components measured 0.18% (lowest) Dodecane, 2,6,11-trimethyl- (Isopentacosone) 7.34% (highest) acid (Z)- (Oleic acid). Other without known 10,13-Octadecadienoic 12-hydroxy-methyl [R-(Z)]- 1,13-Tetradecadiene among others. constituents that can be exploited health benefits.
